Now through the end of the holiday season, Triumph Hotels—a collection of historic hotels across Manhattan—is partnering up with Streetwise—a company known for their unique and localized spin on historic walking tours—to make their complimentary walking tour program even more spectacular with a specialty "jingle bell walk" edition highlighting the iconic holiday window displays.
Since Lord & Taylor debuted its first Christmas themed windows in 1938, Fifth Avenue stores have competed to have the best and brightest holiday display windows. This year Triumph will craft this year’s route based on the most exciting displays.
Highlights from past tours include visiting the antiques collection at Bergdorf Goodman, a children’s book theme at Saks Fifth Avenue and traditional Christmas scenes at Lord & Taylor.
This tour will check out the new 2017 windows and also detail their history. (For example, Andy Warhol is one of several artists who has done holiday windows.) The tour will make stops at other perennial New York Christmas favorites like the tree at Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park’s holiday market and Central Park South, ending with hot chocolate.
